Charlotte Chambers is the founder of Chambers Foundation, bringing over 10 years of architectural practice experience, with a particular focus on timber construction.
Charlotte works at the intersection of natural materials, regenerative systems and contemporary building technology. She is passionate about bringing together traditional building knowledge and modern tools to create forms of architecture that are genuinely sustainable, practical to build and connected to place. Her goal is to make the design and building of a home more attainable, shaping spaces that are both beautiful and buildable.
She completed her architectural qualification at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, and spent 6 years at Waugh Thistleton Architects, where she was involved in pioneering engineered timber innovation and delivering award winning international projects, including some of the tallest timber buildings in the world. Her work contributed to the broader global development of engineered timber construction.
Alongside professional practice, she has tutored at Oxford Brookes University, delivered lectures internationally, and developed a visiting school design and build course. She brings deep experience in technical detailing and Building Information Modelling, BIM, supported by substantial hands on building work. This includes designing and building her own home, as well as building temples and pavilions at Burning Man and in other contexts.
