Can I adapt the design?

The plans are based on a structural timber frame with infill non structural walls. This allows the layout materials and details to be adapted to your site climate and way of living.

How long does it take to build?

The complexity of the blueprint varies. Construction to completion can take from 6 months depending on the scale of your project. 

Do I need permits or approvals?

Check locally. These blueprints are suitable for review by local authorities or engineers and may be used as a guide during approval processes.

Are these designs region specific?

Designed for tropical environments. They have been successfully used in Malaysia Borneo and Indonesia including Bali and Lombok and are adaptable to similar regions. 

What support do you offer beyond the blueprint?

Guidance, consultations and adaptations are available throughout the process. You can also visit us at our farmhouse that we built in Malaysia and we can connect you with our network of local builders and manufacturers.

Yes. The designs in the Chambers Foundation library are grounded in construction reality. They have been used and built in real projects across Asia and developed with local builders materials and regulatory systems.

How much does it cost?

You can start building from 30,000+ USD, covering the structural timber frame and simple finishes for a small functional home suited to rural tropical living.
